Resilience is the buzzword we hear a lot, in the world of mental health, but also more and more in the world of management and organisational development. A resilient person/workforce is adaptable and able to cope well with stress and change. So lets build it and plug it out of the sky!
True and wonderful, but what do we actually mean when saying we need to be more resilient, can we even develop it, and if so, how?
This is what I explore in my article.
Most of us will experience anxiety during our life. From an evolutionary perspective it helped us survive threats as a species. But, today, anxiety may be less helpful as its debilitating worrying thoughts, physiological responses and feelings, prevent us from standing in our strength.
With COVID-19 monopolizing our whole life, many people have told me they are feeling more anxious than normal. And in all honesty, for good reason. These are such disruptive times and we have to deal with so much change and unknowns.
There are different ways of addressing anxiety. Meditation, confront and redirect our internal worrying, centring, are a few. Check out my article for more ways and a deeper dive into the topic of anxiety.
